A family business, rooted in Pennsylvania
From a gas station in Hamburg to six dealerships across Berks and Lebanon counties, the Moyer family has been working with local drivers since 1972.
It started with fixing cars.
In 1972, 19-year-old Steve Moyer opened a Gulf gas station on Route 61 in Hamburg, Pennsylvania. He had already spent his teenage years repairing cars. After the gas crisis, he joined Bob’s Auto Sales in Fleetwood as a technician and salesperson.
That relationship became the foundation of the business. In 1987, Steve and three partners purchased the dealership from Bob Bilger’s estate. In 1999, Steve bought out his partners and brought his sons Steve Jr. and Eric into the partnership.
The family’s work grew with the business. Gail and Matt joined in 2002, and Andy joined in 2018. Today, Moyer Auto Group brings together vehicle sales, financing, service and collision repair for drivers across Berks and Lebanon counties.
